goMOMS MEMBERS ONLY: Take Them a Meal

goMOMS understands that there are times in a MoM’s life that are more difficult than others. During those times, simply putting a meal on the table can add unneeded stress on a family. As a service to our members, goMOMS offers a meal service program. Meals can be delivered for up to one week, upon request. The meals are provided in a number of ways such as home made/ready to serve meals, delivery meals ordered for you by the goMOMS meal provider, or even freezer meals.

Take Them a Meal Process 1) Meals will be provided for:

  • Birth of Child/ren

  • As Needed / Requested Basis:

  • Don’t be shy! You do NOT have to be a gourmet cook to participate! Tried and true recipes that your family loves are usually the quickest and easiest dish for you to make and share with another goMOMS family.

  • On the website, list the main dish you are planning on preparing. This helps prevent the recipient from receiving the same meal multiple days in a row. Five days of chili is a little much for anyone. Variety is the spice of life!

  • Consider preparing a full meal with side dishes (salad, veggies, desert) is possible. Freezer meals are also an option.

  • Any dietary (or other restrictions) will be noted on the invite. Please accommodate requests if possible.

  • On the night before/day of delivery, call recipient (or contact listed) to confirm drop off time.

  • If you still want to provide a meal, but can’t make it during the requested dropoff time, check the invite to see if the recipient is willing to put out a cooler for an earlier dropoff.

  • Use disposable containers so recipient does not have to worry about returning empty dishes.

  • No time to cook? You can still participate!

    • Don’t be afraid to order take out for the family from their favorite restaurant. Contact Meal Coordinator for suggestions (if info is not listed on invite). Either you can pick up the carry out order and deliver to the family personally. Or some restaurants offer delivery service for an additional fee.

    • Other options include only making the main dish at home and buying the sides pre-madefrom the grocery store (or someplace like Boston Market).

    • Restaurant gift cards are another option. Gift cards for chain restaurants can be purchased practically anywhere (drug store, grocery store, retail store) and loaded with any amount. Electronic gift cards can be sent directly to recipient’s email with a simple click of a button.

    • The Take Them a Meal website also offers a meal delivery service. Click on the green “Send Them a Meal” button at the top of the home page or use this link to order online.

Reality Check Time! Our lives are busy and crazy as Moms of Multiples. Our goal is to make this process as simple and efficient as possible for both the recipient and the meal providers. The website is self-explanatory and easy to navigate. However, if you have any questions, please contact the Meal Coordinator for assistance.

  • Need to change the date you signed up for? No worries! Just log into website and update your appointment to another available date.

  • Found a great recipe and decided to change your meal? No problem! Just log in online and update your menu selection!

  • You signed up to provide a meal, but now cannot participate? Log in to website and remove your name from the schedule. Try to join in next time.

  • Most importantly… Please keep the schedule current!!
