Tessa Benziger, RYT, is a newly certified yoga instructor, as of May 2010. She has been practicing yoga for 12 years, and has developed a deep gratitude towards her yoga practice, and its ability to evolve along with her life. Most notably, Tessa attributes the more quiet, internal practices of yoga for guiding her mindfully into the transitions of pregnancy and motherhood. She feels very blessed to be able to share the benefits of yoga, and has focused particularly on prenatal, postnatal, and baby-and-me classes. Tessa is also a master’s level social worker and part-time sexual assault therapist, and credits yoga for helping her to find balance between work and home.

No experience necessary. If yoga isn’t your forte still come and socialize on the sidelines! Please bring either a dessert or refreshment to share. goMOMS will provide salad & toppings. See you there…

During these difficult economic times, many of us have needs or could use a little extra assistance from time to time.  The need may be financial, but also may include needs such as meals, childcare, or help with homework during an illness, bedrest, injury or surgery recovery or a complimentary membership for someone who wants to join and be an active member of goMOMS , but it just isn’t in their budget this year.

Any means of assistance will be considered, and your goMOMS Board is committed to helping all those that we can; however, our budget is limited so we may not be able to meet every need.  Applications may be completed for yourself or other members/non-members for which you are aware of a need.  Applications are viewed only by the Board in order to consider each request.  The due date for the first round of application is December 12th.  Please submit application via email to Heidi Baker for consideration by the Board.

Come join us in celebrating the Holidays! goMOMS will be providing dinner (set up in the restaurants back room). A cash bar will be available. Please RSVP no later than December 8th to the Evite so we can give them a count for dinner.

This year we would like to give back to the community and are asking members to bring a donation of wipes, diapers or pull-ups (of any size) to benefit HAVEN (a shelter for women and children in Pontiac). Due to venue and set-up we will not be having a white elephant or gift card exchange.

Please join us for our Fall Family Party at Upland Hills Farm!  This is an early opportunity to get your kids in their costumes and kick off the Fall Halloween season!  Cost of entrance to the farm is $5.00 per person for goMOMS members and immediate family with the coupon. Members must print coupons prior to arrival. Click here to print the coupon.  Coupons must be presented at entrance gate and you will need one per person. (24 months & Under is Free)  All extended family and friends are welcome to come at the group discount rate of $7.00 per person.  You are able to come and enjoy the farm all day if you like.  We are planning on setting up indoors in the barn area across from the play area.  Look for goMOMS signs posted at the entrance gate and inside the farm.

This year goMOMS will be doing our own photographs.  We will be taking posed family photographs from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.  We will also have a few goMOMS volunteering to take candid shots of everyone throughout the day.  All photos taken will be put on one CD that will be available for purchase for $2.00 per CD.  We are planning to have them available at our October general membership meeting following the party for pick-up/purchase.  At sign in, you can check you would like a CD at that time to reserve your copy.  Our raffle give-away will also be started at noon.
